Iron Vale Tactics
★★★★★ 4.6
Iron Vale Tactics is the kind of game we love arguing about. You defend a chain of narrow mountain passes, and every turn forces you to trade off between building up defenses and pushing your scouts forward for resources. The maps are small but dense with decisions.
The AI plays smart enough to punish lazy positioning, and the fog-of-war system means you're always guessing a little. We lost our first three campaigns and enjoyed every defeat because each one taught us something. By the time it clicked, we were sketching pass layouts on paper.
It runs light on the battery and pauses cleanly, so it slots nicely into a busy day. The only nitpick is a slightly cramped UI on smaller screens, but the core loop is rock solid.
What we liked
- Deep resource trade-offs every turn
- Smart, punishing AI
- Sessions you can pause anytime
